- Start as soon as possible after symptoms start.
- Blow your nose – thoroughly.
- Block one nostril at a time.
- Critical temperature is 43 – 47ºC.
- Regulate temperature of vapour breathed in by varying distance from water surface.
- It should feel hot on your face but not painful either on your skin or in your nose.
- Keep going after symptoms have gone.
- It takes some effort if your nose is partially blocked – keep yourself motivated – remember the misery of your last cold!
- Keep warm for 24 hours after treating a cold
- Think about vitamin supplements if you think your immune system may not be very effective.
